Yoke Mui has extensive experience in Malaysian real estate transactions, civil aviation matters, including sale and leaseback transactions structured through Labuan entities, corporate banking and corporate matters such as joint ventures involving foreign direct investments.

She has been involved in a number of material real estate transactions, including the purchase of large estates and industrial land, the sale and purchase of office buildings and the sale of high value properties to a real estate investment trust pursuant to a recent stapled securities issuance in Malaysia. Yoke Mui advised on the acquisition of reclaimed land for the erection of a coal fired power plant. She reviewed and advised on complex land issues arising in the listings of property development companies and oil palm development companies and real estate investment trusts on the Main Market of Bursa Malaysia.

In relation to civil aviation matters, Yoke Mui has acted as Malaysian legal counsel in respect of transactions involving the sale and leaseback of various aircraft. Yoke Mui also assisted and advised many international law firms on the Malaysian aspects of the sale, purchase, lease, sub-lease, mortgage and registration of foreign owned aircraft in Malaysia. A number of the aircraft leases were structured through Labuan companies and she assisted with the setting up of the Labuan companies and the application for leasing approvals.  She also acted as Malaysian legal adviser to an aircraft services company in structuring the availability of aviation spare parts to an air operator in 3 countries in South East Asia.

Yoke Mui also has experience in corporate matters involving foreign direct investment, and has assisted and advised several international corporations in their joint-venture transactions in Malaysia (and the subsequent mutual termination thereof) as well as the restructuring and merger of companies in Malaysia.
