Edward’s area of practice is primarily in banking and finance work (covering both Islamic as well as conventional finance) such as advising on debt capital market financing, bilateral and syndicated term financing, structured finance and other general banking and finance matters.

Some of the notable transactions in which he has been involved include advising on the provision of project finance for the construction of a coal fired power plant in Malaysia; advising on the establishment of Ringgit-denominated Sukuk programmes by several foreign issuers; advising on the issuance of bonds to finance the concessionaire for the design, development, construction and completion of several university residential colleges granted by the Government of Malaysia under the Private Finance Initiative concept and advising as Malaysian legal counsel on the security sharing arrangement pursuant to various financing facilities granted by several lenders to a Malaysian borrower.
