Kewinder’s practice predominantly involves the front-end advising, structuring, negotiating and finalizing of agreements for infrastructure projects such as Concession Agreements, Engineering, Procurement and Construction Contracts, Operations and Maintenance Agreements, Sub-lease Agreements, Electricity Supply Agreements, Independent Engineer Agreements and Cooling Energy Supply Agreements. This would include the preparation of risk evaluation matrices and risk analysis for various infrastructure projects, tender submissions, requests for proposals and invitations to bid.

His projects experience covers advisory on power infrastructure projects in Malaysia, Dubai, Bangladesh, Senegal and Yemen which include coal-fired, gas-fired and solar photovoltaic power plants, extends to district cooling plants, highway construction, rail construction, oil and gas related projects and cement plants. In addition, he has also advised the corporate and commercial arrangements of projects counterparties which comprise shareholder agreements, joint-venture agreements, share sale agreements, asset purchase agreements, services agreements and legal issues involving project land.

Kewinder’s exposure includes mergers and acquisitions advisory inter-alia advising on acquisition of Malaysian software companies by a Japanese listed company and the acquisition of assets in a Malaysian medical company by Japanese acquirers.
